BAKER

Bakers use their understanding of ingredients and food preparation to craft recipes and create baked goods. They measure and mix raw ingredients, bake and decorate items, and ensure that all raw and finished goods adhere to quality and food safety standards. 

Job Description

We are searching for skilled, creative Bakers who strive to provide excellent baked items and service in an efficient, professional manner. We are looking for a Baker to prepare different types of bread and a wide range of pastries, like cookies, cakes and pies.

Baker responsibilities include opening the bakery early in the morning, portioning ingredients, mixing dough, shaping breads and rolls, proofing and baking bread. 

​

The Baker will be responsible for finished products, and process orders from customers. You will also clean workstations and equipment and perform other duties to ensure that customer needs are satisfied and the bakery is well-stocked and operating smoothly.​ To be a successful Baker, you should be efficient and friendly with a focus on food quality and customer satisfaction. You should be organized, decisive, attentive, and possess a strong understanding of baking techniques.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Open the bakery early in the morning

  • Weigh flour and other ingredients to prepare the dough

  • Portion and shape dough to prepare different types of pastries, including croissants, cookies and sweet rolls

  • Bake a variety of different bread types and rolls

  • Package baked goods and display in store for sale

  • Package wholesale orders and ensure deliveries are out on time

  • Clean workspaces, and equipment and perform maintenance on equipment

  • Clean and sanitize the production areas and equipment daily including washing dishes, sweeping, mopping and garbage disposal.

 

Requirements

 

  • Experience in the food industry is an asset.

  • Understanding of food safety practices

  • Excellent time-management skills

  • Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment

  • Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude

  • Ability to work in early morning shifts

  • Drivers license is not required but is an asset

CAKE & PASTRY BAKER

Job Description

In the job you will be responsible for measuring ingredients for cake batters, creams, and icings. Baking sponge cakes, mixing custard and icings. 

​

Preparing and baking various ingredients for our pastry sections including cannoli, choux paste, puff pastry and tarts. You will assist in daily cake and pastry creations, displaying and packaging products for sale. 

​

To be successful in this position you should keep up of the latest styles, techniques, and trends in cake decoration. You should be able to demonstrate creativity, attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Assisting baking staff with the production of standard bakery items. Including daily pastries, cakes and cookies.

  • Designing and decorating cakes according to customers' specifications.

  • Decorating bakery items according to established bakery standards.

  • Producing different kinds of icing, frosting, and cake fillings based on cake type and customer preferences.

  • Ensuring that the display refrigerators are cleaned and fully stocked with cakes, pastries, and desserts.

  • Cleaning and sanitizing all work areas and ovens as well as baking and decorating equipment.

 

Requirements

 

  • Proven baking and cake decorating experience.

  • The ability to use various cake-decorating instruments and tools.

DELI CLERK

Deli Clerks assist shoppers at the deli counter by recommending foods, providing samples of meats and cheeses, cutting, weighing, packaging, and pricing meats and cheeses, and responding to customer inquiries and requests. They also maintain clean work areas, update displays, and inform customers about specials, promotions, and new items.

Job Description

We are looking for a courteous, customer-focused Deli Clerk who is committed to providing customers with the best service possible. 

 

Deli Clerks will clean and prepare workstations and displays, answer questions and respond to customer requests, and provide information to clients to ensure that they select the products that best fit their needs.

 

To succeed as a Deli Clerk, you should be polite, prompt, and knowledgeable. Additionally, you should be able to meet the physical demands of the position while providing customers with the best possible experience.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Answering phones and taking orders

  • Providing responsive, exceptional service to deli counter customers by answering questions, making recommendations, providing samples, and responding to requests.

  • Recommending, slicing, weighing, packaging, and pricing meats and cheeses.

  • Preparing special orders and party trays.

COOK

Job Description

Our prepared food and catering department is looking to hire a new Cook who will be responsible for preparing awesome dishes for our customers. Duties will include prepping meals by weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients, cooking meals, checking ingredients for freshness and packaging orders for delivery and pick-up orders. Ensure that the kitchen and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained.

 

To be successful in this job, you will need a thorough experience with hot and cold food preparation. Prior experience in a related position and a driver’s licences is an advantage.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Prepare meals for our freezer section.

  • Prepare and package food orders for corporate lunches, dinners and catering events.

  • Weigh, measure, mix and prep ingredients according to recipes.

  • Steam, grill, boil, bake or fry meats, fish, vegetables, and other ingredients.

  • Make soups, sauces, stocks from scratch.

  • Check food and ingredients for freshness. Maintain proper rotation of food to ensure minimal waste.

  • Be willing to cater on site and deliver meals. 

  • Bring creative ideas forward and design new recipes

  • Work well under pressure and within the time limit.

  • Ensure that kitchen area, equipment and utensils are cleaned.

 

Requirements

 

  • Prior experience in related food and beverage service and food preparation positions.

  • Thorough experience with hot and cold food preparation.

  • Good working knowledge of accepted sanitation standards and health codes.

  • Ability to use slicers, mixers, grinders, food processors, etc.

  • Able to handle work in a fast-paced environment.
